Honda 2Wheelers India has just launched the all-new Dio 125 to rival the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Suzuki Avenis. The Dio 125 comes in two variants - Standard and Smart. The former is priced at Rs 83,400 (ex-showroom) while the latter is priced at Rs 91,300 (ex-showroom). The Dio 125 is Honda’s 3rd scooter in its 125cc scooter portfolio, after the Grazia and the Activa 125.

The Dio 125 looks similar to its 110cc sibling. However, Honda has carry-forwarded the Dio's design and reworked on the looks by adding design elements and contours that should appeal to buyers looking for a sporty and efficient 125cc scooter. It features sharp lines, bold graphics, and a dynamic front apron, giving it a distinctive and youthful appearance. The dual outlet exhausts with heat shield, along with the '125' badge, completes the design.

Powered by a 123.92cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with Honda's eSP (Enhanced Smart Power) technology, which generates 8.25bhp of power at 6,250rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 5000rpm. Derived from the Activa 125, this engine is known for its smooth and refined performance, making it ideal for both, urban commuting and short-distance travels. Like all two-wheelers sold by Honda in India, the Dio 125 also features HET (Honda Eco Technology), ensuring optimal fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

Feature-wise, the Dio 125 gets an LED headlamp, idle start-stop system, side-stand indicator with engine inhibitor, a pass switch, integrated headlight beam, and Honda's Combi-braking system (CBS). The Smart variant additionally gets a Smart Key instead of a conventional one, and features additional functions like smart find, keyless start, and added security. Furthermore, it gets an all-digital instrument cluster that provides vital information such as speed, fuel level, trip meter, average/instant mileage and more, in a clear and easily readable format. Another highlight is the 18-litre under-seat storage which makes carrying luggage easier.

On the safety front, the Dio 125 employs CBS on both variants. However, while the standard model gets drum brakes at both ends, the Smart variant gets a petal-type disc brake at the front and a drum brake for the rear. The scooter rides on 12-inch alloys shod with tubeless tyres. With the kerb weight of 104kg, the Dio 125 comes with a 5.3-litre fuel tank and offers 171mm of ground clearance.
