The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is the brand's first-ever adventure tourer. The bike is now available in India and it competes with the top-of-the-line adventure tourers on sale. It's designed keeping H-D's legacy in mind and does look the part with the rectangular bar-style LED headlight, large adjustable windscreen, a massive fuel tank, spoked wheels and exposed sub-frame. Power comes from the brand new engine 1252 cc Revolution Max V-Twin engine that develops 150 bhp and 127 Nm of peak torque. The Pan America 1250 is also big on electronics with cruise control, lean-sensitive traction control and ABS, five riding modes, a 6.8-inch touch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, semi-active suspension and also Adaptive Ride Height (ARH). With prices starting at Rs. 16.90 lakh, going up to Rs. 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom), here's a look at the top two rivals competing with the Harley Pan America 1250.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 is powered by the V4 Granturismo engine with 168 bhp, 125 Nm

1. Ducati Multistrada V4

The new-generation Ducati Multistrada V4 recently made its debut in India and comes in a new avatar. The all-new offering is powered by the 1158 cc V4 Granturismo engine, with a 90-degree, counter-rotating crankshaft and twin pulse firing order. The motor develops 167 bhp and 125 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox, with Ducati Quick Shift Up and Down system on the V4 S. The fourth-generation Multistrada is the first production motorcycle in the world to feature a front and rear radar-powered rider-assistance system. The system adds Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection on the bike. It also gets full-LED lighting, a dedicated connectivity app with but also features turn-by-turn navigation, Ducati's latest electronics system, four ride modes, and even a Vehicle Hold Control System. The 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4 is priced at Rs. 18.99 lakh for the standard version, going up to Rs. 23.30 lakh for the V4 S (ex-showroom).

2. BMW R 1250 GS

BMW Motorrad recently introduced the updated R 1250 GS in the country. The 2021 BMW R 1250 GS and BMW R 1250 GS Adventure come with new colours and updated electronics. The 2021 BMW R 1250 GS range gets two new colour options - Style Triple Black and Style Rally, as well as the limited "40 Years of GS" colours. The bike also features new adaptive cornering lights, integral ABS Pro mode, HSC Pro. In addition to the road and rain riding modes, the 2021 R 1250 GS series gets Pro riding modes as well. These include dynamic, dynamic pro, enduro and enduro pro. The 'dynamic pro' and 'enduro pro' riding modes further get individualisation options to set the motorcycle to individual requirements.  The boxer-twin engine now makes 134 bhp and 143 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 2021 BMW R 1250 GS is priced at Rs. 20.45 lakh, while the R 1250 GS Adventure will set you back by Rs. 22.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
