The lack of modern features, and inadequate bite on brakes makes it unsuitable for hilly terrains.

The Yamaha MT-15's 155 cc engine is possibly the best in the segment a and has a well refined motor. Overall, the bike is well-specced in the segment and decent number of figures to compete with the competition. The rear suspension though is a tad stiff and seat comfort is not not exactly the best, especially if you intend to spend longer duration on the motorcycle. Inconsistent panel gaps and overall build quality could've been improved.

The RTR 160 retains its good handling prowess and it absolutely loves being thrown around the corners at the test track. The grip from the TVS Remora radial tyres is commendable too and the bike felt sure-footed when negotiating the corners. Overall, it may not feature ground-breaking changes, but with the new headlamp and the BS6 engine, the desirability quotient does go up by a couple of notches.

The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has the classic modern classic Royal Enfield design inspired by Royal Enfield bikes of the 1950s. The Royal Enfield Bulllet 350 has an old-world charm and is the longest-running model of the storied brand offering an iconic name and model which has stood the test of time. With good ride quality, and decent performance, the Bullet 350 is good for everyday riding over all kinds of road surfaces and offers two-up comfort, even for long rides.

Possibly the best looking motorcycle in the segment, the Yamaha R15's sharp lines and sporty styling has won over many hearts since its launch. The 155 cc engine is best in the segment thanks to the high refinement levels and the wide spread of power and torque available on tap. Yamaha has also made sure that the motorcycle is loaded with safety features that make it a good bet for young or even experienced riders.

One of the most cost effective products from Hero MotoCorp, the Hero HF Deluxe features a robust design that is liked by all, while offering a comfortable stance that helps commuting less stressful. It's designed for frugal running costs, as well as a low price point. But the lack of modern features and the noisy engine are its major flaws apart from the absence of disc brakes which is now standard on most products in this segment.

The TVS XL 100 is a high-selling moped with exceptional load carrying capacity. More buyers in the rural parts of the country, the XL 100 is hardy and rugged. Out of the numerous positives, the motorycle has possibly the most refined engine in the segment, with superior ergonomics aiding young riders as well as seasoned riders. But, the cons are equally worrying as better set of brakes, and a lower seat would've helped. Plus the lack of top-end torque doesn't really work in the case of an ADV.

Possibly one of the best 125 cc motorcycle available in the market right now, the TVS Raider is also a recipient of Motorcycle of the year award at the 2022 carandbike awards. Its high octane performance for its size, and the number of features it gets, makes it a very strong contendor in the segment. At the same time, the quality of plastics and a bouncy rear suspension could've been dealt with better.
