The BSA Gold Star 650 revives an iconic motorcycle brand, being the first motorcycle model that will be offered on sale under the resurrected BSA brand. Classic Legends, a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, has brought back the iconic motorcycle brand BSA and unveiled the first model to be sold under the revived name. The BSA Gold Star, originally produced from 1938 to 1963, was known for its range of engines ranging from 350cc to 500cc. The 2022 BSA Gold Star maintains many of the classic design elements of the original model, but it is expected to be powered by a newly-developed 650cc single-cylinder DOHC engine, delivering around 44 bhp.

The new BSA Gold Star is equipped with a 652 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine featuring four valves and operated by dual overhead camshafts. It also includes twin spark plugs, while retaining the classic fins on the block reminiscent of the original air-cooled unit's design. Developed in collaboration with the Technical University of Graz to meet the latest emission standards, the engine produces 45 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 55 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed gearbox, complemented by a slip and assist clutch.

The new BSA Gold Star stays true to its heritage, preserving the essence of its predecessor. It features a round headlamp positioned neatly below the signature twin-pod instrument console, maintaining similar proportions to the original model. The chromed fuel tank adorned with pinstriping and a prominent BSA Gold Star logo pays homage to the design of past Gold Star models. The engine covers, silencer design, and rear fender with trademark stays also evoke nostalgia, echoing iconic elements from the original Gold Star's design.

Other Upcoming BSA Model is Scrambler 650
