Moving forward in its electric journey is Volvo Cars as the Swedish carmaker will reveal its upcoming flagship electric SUV- Volvo EX90 Recharge, on November 9, 2022. With a claim to being the safest car ever built by the company, the Volvo EX90 Recharge electric SUV will be the electric-only version of the Volvo XC90, its current flagship SUV. This means, the Volvo EX90 Recharge electric SUV will ideally be a larger model than the XC90 and will serve as its flagship model. Volvo aims to be a fully electric brand by 2030.
Jim Rowan, CEO, Volvo Cars said, “We’ll continue to innovate until cars don’t crash anymore until we’re 100 per cent carbon-free as a company. All to protect more lives, in line with our purpose. The EX90 is the start of a new era for Volvo Cars, taking our legacy of safety, quality, and innovation into the future.”
With the EX90 Recharge electric SUV, Volvo will also debut its latest LiDAR tech made up of 8 cameras, 5 radars, and 16 ultrasonic sensors, making it one of the most advanced sensor sets on the market. This new feature will eventually trickle down to all new Volvo cars. The Geely-owned Scandinavian carmaker says its LiDAR technology can detect pedestrians at up to 250 m distances and something as small and dark as a tire on a black road 120 m ahead, all this while traveling at highway speeds. Developed in-house, the new tech will be the car’s core computing power that aims to keep track of potential hazards.
“We believe the EX90 to be the safest Volvo car to ever hit the road,” said Joachim de Verdier, head of Safe Vehicle Automation at Volvo Cars. “We are fusing our understanding of the outside environment with our more detailed understanding of driver attention. When all our safety systems, sensors, software, and computing power come together, they create a preventative shield of safety around you – and you won’t even know it’s there until you need it.”
Along with the LiDAR tech, Volvo will also enhance its Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) functionality with the upcoming Volvo EX90 electric SUV. A special set of sensors and cameras will be installed inside the car as well that will gauge the driver’s eye gaze concentration and alert them to focus when necessary. The system will start as a light nudge and gradually become more persistent if required in case the driver falls asleep while driving. The system can stop and call for help if such as situation ever arises.
Other Upcoming Volvo Models are the ES90 Electric, EX 60 and XC70

and highways respectively. Space and comfort are also top notch for a hatch. Ride and handling are worth mentioning especially if you compare it with the 1st gen model. The only miss I feel is of a sunroof and rear armrest at least as an option, which would make this a complete overall package which is impossible to beat.

A Practical Beast The Ultimate Enthusiasts Car in India
By Surbhit Rao @ Jun 24, 2026 03:11 PM
5.0
The Skoda Octavia RS is hands down one of the best performance sedans you can buy in India. It perfectly balances daily practicality with blistering, track-ready performance. The turbocharged TSI engine is an absolute masterpiece, pulling relentlessly across the rev range, while the DSG gearbox delivers lightning-fast shifts. While the suspension is noticeably stiffer than the standard Octavia—making some of our notoriously bad city roads a bit bumpy—it pays off brilliantly in high-speed stability and cornering dynamics. The cabin feels premium, and the Alcantara sports seats hold you perfectly in place. Safety is top-tier, and the European build quality is evident the moment you shut the doors. The styling is a perfect "sleeper" look; it’s understated but features aggressive bumpers and beautiful alloys for those who know what they're looking at. You do have to be prepared for premium maintenance costs and single-digit fuel economy in heavy city traffic, but every time you find an open stretch of road and put your foot down, it feels absolutely worth every rupee.

A Fabulous hatch
By Saurabh @ Jun 19, 2026 06:24 PM

An undisputed hatchback leader of the country, Baleno does everything with exemplary finesse and smoothness. The 1.2 L petrol motor is an absolute gem and feels more lively with even the most gentle throttle inputs. The efficiency hovers atleast around the 15 and 20 kmpl mark in city and highways respectively. Space and comfort are also top notch for a hatch. Ride and handling are worth mentioning especially if you compare it with the 1st gen model. The only miss I feel is of a sunroof and rear armrest at least as an option, which would make this a complete overall package which is impossible to beat.

Economically the best car money can buy
By Mahendra @ Jun 16, 2026 04:22 PM
4.0
I have been driving this car for years now, and since the day I bought it, it hasn't cost me a single extra dime. It has never left me stranded, the service center has never overcharged me, repair costs are minimal, and spare parts are both affordable and readily available. Overall, this car is worth every paisa. The only real downside is safety, but since I mostly stick to city commutes rather than highways, it works perfectly for me. This vehicle is the perfect example of getting exactly what you pay for. Every essential feature you need is right there, the quality and finishing is top notch. No unwanted panel gaps, nothing came out of shape in the last 4-5 years. Honestly, Hyundai could teach other manufacturers a lesson or two about engine refinement and product quality. Overall, Quality of manufacturing is best. Safety is the most important concern. And the best part is..This car is dependable.

The cabin feels spacious and well-built, with all the essential features needed for daily use. Fuel efficiency is good, and maintenance costs are reasonable. Whether for commuting or occasional highway trips, it delivers a reliable and enjoyable driving experience. Overall, it's a practical and value-for-money hatchback.
